Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy for ICAT Systems ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") explains what information about you we may collect and use when you access our website ("Site"), use the ICAT software ("Software"), engage in training or support services, contact us, or otherwise engage with us ("Services").

We remind you that if you visit a link outside of ICATSystems.com you are subject to the privacy policies of that site.

Collection and Use of Information

We may collect and use the following information:

1. Personally Identifiable Information

Information you disclose through the use of our Site, Software, and Services can include:

  • Accounts. In order to set up an account, request a trial, take an online course, or complete a purchase on ICATSystems.com, we ask you to register and input a limited amount of personally identifiable information (including email address, name, organization, and contact information). We store this information you add as your account profile.
  • Software Registration. In order to use the ICAT Software you will be required to activate your license and register the Software. When you do, we receive the name of your QuickBooks Company File. (See item 3 below for more on data use with the ICAT Software.)
  • Purchases. We use third party payment processors to processes payments made to us. We do not retain any personally identifiable financial information (such as credit card information). Payment data is processed by the third party payment processor and governed by their privacy policy.
  • Forms. ICATSystems.com uses interactive forms that let you voluntarily submit personally identifiable information (such as your e-mail address, name, or organization) for purposes including, but not limited to: request for information; register to receive e-mail updates and newsletters; register for a webinar; or, send questions and comments to ICAT Systems.
  • Communications. When you contact or engage with ICAT Systems (e.g. via email, phone, social media, events, or other means), we may keep a record of your communication, including contact information, to inform you of updates, products, and services.

Some information we collect automatically may be linked to you and your activity on our Site and Services.

  • Engagement Information. We track engagement with our offerings, such as attending or viewing a demo, or opening and clicking links in an email. We track usage of online training, including the time spent and files downloaded.

How we use this information

We use your personal information to help you utilize ICAT Systems’ Software, Services, and other offerings.

ICAT Systems may use the information you provide to communicate with you for business purposes. We may use information collected to tailor our communications with you.

ICAT Systems sends administrative and service-related emails (including registration confirmations, order confirmations, renewal and expiration notices, software updates) to registered users of the Site, Software, and/or Services. You may not opt-out of these service-related emails. You may contact us if you wish to change the user associated with your company account, or to have your account removed from service-related communications.

ICAT Systems also sends general email communications, including but not limited to marketing information on ICAT Systems’ products and services, customer service, feedback, or other informational purposes. You may opt-out or change your preferences for marketing and informational emails at any time through the list settings in the email footer or by emailing us at support@icatsystems.com.

We use engagement and analytics data to understand how users interact with our Site and Services, and to improve our offerings and user experience.

We do not share any personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the service. We will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

2. Non-Personal Information

Information we collect through use of our Site and Services

Like most website operators, ICAT Systems automatically collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available. Technical information collected from the Site may include:

  • Date and time of access
  • URL address of the ICATSystems.com webpage visited
  • Internet domain and IP address from which our website was accessed
  • Type of browser and operating system used to access our Site (if provided by the browser)
  • URL address of the referring page (if provided by the browser)
  • Link source and medium
  • Completion or success status of the request for a web page or other online action

We utilize Google Analytics to collect and analyze the above information.

How we use this information

ICAT Systems uses this non-personally-identifying information to better understand how ICATSystems.com visitors use the Site, and to provide the best possible experience.

3. ICAT Software Information

ICAT Systems uses a product license key to authenticate the ICAT Software validity and to verify the use of the Software is in compliance with the Software License Agreement. When activating the license key, ICAT Systems receives a minimum necessary information to confirm compliance: IP address, Company File Name, and Activation Date. ICAT Systems does not receive any other accounting or finance data provided via the ICAT Software or third party services. ICAT Systems will only have access to your accounting system or ICAT Software data if you choose to share it, e.g. for the purpose of customer support. Any data shared for customer support will be used for the express purpose intended.

An ICAT Systems customer may engage ICAT Systems in a professional services arrangement. Under such an arrangement, the customer willingly provides access to accounting system data to be used for the express purposes intended.

Cookies

A cookie is data that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website such as to help improve your access to our Site and identify repeat visitors to our Site.

ICAT Systems uses cookies when registered users log on to our Site. This helps us to authenticate and identify users while signed in to our Site, and enables you to more easily access and edit your account profile, complete an online purchase, and access your purchase history.

ICATSystems.com uses cookies to help identify new vs. returning visitors to the Site, and to compile aggregated, non-personally-identifiable data about Site usage. ICAT Systems may utilize third party services to enhance its distribution of data and information (e.g. videos) through links from our Site. A cookie may be set by such a third party provider when you click on the provider’s link in order to access the ICAT Systems data (e.g. play a video). This use of cookies is not linked to any personally identifiable information on our Site.

Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use our Site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our Site may be limited.

ICAT Systems employs security measures to help protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. We monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

We care about the safety and privacy of children online. ICATSystems.com does not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 18. ICATSystems.com is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 18.

ICAT Systems uses some social media tools and websites to interact with its customers, partners and the public. ICAT Systems’ Privacy Policy and other terms do not apply to these third party sites. Any information you share via social media is governed by the policies and practices of the social media provider. We encourage you to read the policies of the third party site when deciding whether to use it.

Changes and Updates

We periodically review and update this Privacy Policy. Any changes will be effective from the time the new Privacy Policy is posted, as indicated by the "Effective Date" listed above.

Your use of the Site or Services after changes to this Privacy Policy have been implemented constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of the new Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of the new Privacy Policy, you must no longer use the Site or Services.
